MID-OHIO ROUND #4

Everyone’s getting ready for the 4th round in the F600 Challenge at Mid-Ohio on October 4/6. There is a $4000 tow fund and purse up for grabs, and with this weekend’s three official races there will be 9 tires from Hoosier, $525 from SPS, along with several other contingency prizes. We have 9 drivers committed/registered for this race including 2 new drivers who haven’t run the F600 Challenge yet.   We are looking forward to racing with George Fox and Ted Simmons, the two newcomers to our series.  Unfortunately, George Bugg won’t be able to make this race due to other commitments.  Looking ahead we are predicting at least 12 cars at the series championship race at the ARRC in November.

So far, below are the 8 drivers who have already registered:

  1. Edwards, Fred, Maverick, Metalloid Corp., Sturgis, MI
  2. Fitzpatrick, Jason,   NovaKBS Mk.7, Ooltewah, TN
  3. Fox, George, 2001 McMahan FDS 001, Formula600racing.com, Athens, GA
  4. Maier, Carl, 2000 Red Devil F600, Rim Spec, Grand Prairie, TX
  5. McMahan, Clint, 2013 Scorpian FDS 007, Formula600racing.com, Covington, GA
  6. Ross, Chris, 2009 NovaKBS Mk7 NovaRace and Preform Resources Matthews, NC
  7. Strand, Matt, 2010 FDS Mk.8, Satellite Racing Tequesta, FL
  8. Edwards, Tom, Maverick, Metalloid Corp., Sturgis, MI

Thus, the remaining driver who has committed but not registered yet is as follows:

9.  Ted  Simmons

We are very thankful for our sponsors who have made this series possible:

The Formula 600 Challenge series was developed to help promote an affordable open wheel formula car to showcase talent without large financial race budgets. The Formula 600 open wheel cars use a 600cc motorcycle engine and a 6 speed sequential drive train revving up to 13,000 rpm with speeds capable in excess of 135 mph. The sound of these cars at 13,000 rpm is likened to a F1 car.
