FORMULA 600 CHALLENGE SERIES: 2017 RACE SCHEDULE TO BE ENHANCED
For the 2017 schedule, because Indianapolis will be the site for the very first time for the SCCA Runoffs, we are stepping up the Series by having all rounds of the Series at SCCA Major and Hoosier Super Tour events. This is the 2017 F600 Challenge Series schedule:
March 10-12 Road Atlanta Major Race
April 14-16 Virginia International Raceway – Hoosier Super Tour
May 12-14 Heartland Park Topeka Major Race
June 16-18 Road America June Sprints – Hoosier Super Tour
And the finale will be –
September 25 – October 1 The Runoffs at Indianapolis
We are so excited. The drivers voted for this and consider Indianapolis to be on their Bucket List.
The Formula 600 Challenge series was developed to help promote an affordable open wheel formula car to showcase talent without large financial race budgets. The Formula 600 open wheel cars use a 600cc motorcycle engine and a 6 speed sequential transmission revving up to 15,000 rpm with speeds in excess of 135 mph. The sound of these cars is likened to F1 cars.
