After much discussion and input here is the 2021 schedule. Again, the emphasis is to have the races as close to the center of the country east of the Mississippi as possible to help with towing costs:
March 19-21 Road Atlanta Super Tour
April 9-11 VIR Super Tour Note*
April 30 – May 2 Pittsburgh International Race Complex (New to the Series)
May 21–23 Mid-Ohio Major
September 25 – October 3 Indy Runoffs
This schedule should allow adequate time to qualify for the Indy Runoffs.
*Note – For those of you who are planning to race at the VIR Tour event on April 9-11, here is what the SCCA Website is showing:
“Pending confirmation by VIR” –
https://www.scca.com/pages/super-tour
I asked VIR management and here is their response:
“That is not pending by us but pending by the Governor of VA at what crowd capacities we will be able to have. It is our intention to host this event.”
The Formula 600 Challenge Series was developed to help promote an affordable open wheel formula car class to showcase talent without large financial race budgets. There are no paid staffers and one hundred percent of all sponsorship monies and product goes directly to the drivers in our series. The Formula 600 open wheel cars use a 600cc motorcycle engine and a six speed sequential transmission revving up to 15,000 rpm with speeds in excess of 140 mph. The sound of these cars is likened to F1 cars.
